Seniors Yellow Peril Pairs
12th February 2024
With carrying only likely, and ultimately in force, the field for this year was reduced to 9 pairs against 16 last year.
Ray was kind enough to allow PWP everywhere and bunkers as GUR, so scores were rather higher than perhaps they would have been, but nevertheless there were some really excellent performances.
RF and I happened to play with Dennis and Dave S and they both had really good games, with 3 birdies between them. Alright, I'll mention that Dennis got 2! We guessed that their score would be a winning one and it was. 136 points is a record in recent times. Well done those guys.
(NB in 2019 it was 115; 20 117; not played 21 and 22; 118 in 23. So 136 is extraordinarily high scoring!).
In 2nd with another excellent score of 123 was Kevin B and Mark W. They talked a lot about birdies, but I suspect they were confusing genuine birdies with HC birdies! Excellent result guys.
The 3rd place performance has resulted in a falling out between neighbours!
Ray pointed out that the shot of the day probably went to Ivan (but without any evidence !) whose tee shot on the 2nd ended up in the bin on the left! But he did go on and get the correct hole for a 7-1.
