Ash's Days Out
Away day 2022/23 : 1st September : Hartswood 2023
September awayday and the 10th of the season was at Hartswood Golf club which is a popular venue for the locals. It's pretty, it's flat, it's well looked after and cheap to play.
The day started a bit damp with some drizzle which stopped an hour into the round. The clouds gradually shifted away and it ended up a very warm sunny day.
The golf played by some was very good, if you didn't score 40 you weren't a winner, (that's the norm nowadays) So well done to Ray for a superb 45pts, Bill for an excellent 42pts and jet lagged Gordon for a very good 41pts.
NP on 5th was Bill and on the 7th Kevin
Thank you Les for donating a bottle of wine for the 5th NP. He has won one back (not the one he donated) in the team game.
In the team game 1 of the 3 players scoring 3 or more is very important so it's no surprise that Ray/Spiggy and Les with fifteen 3 pointers and one 5 pointer (total 140pts) just pipped Gordon Steve and Mark (137pts).
Ray was 1 over for the back 9 (27 pts unbelievable)
The bar at Hartwood was not open which is a shame so there was nowhere to gather to announce the results. A number of players went to Toby for a drink whilst others made their way home.
Now for a load of tables.
With just 2 awaydays left, Ray has now taken the lead (having completed the min number of away games) in the race for Away Day golfer of the year.
