Ash's Days Out
Away day 2022 : Hartswood GC 15th July 2022
A good turnout for this local awayday swindle with 21 WPS doing battle. As per email the organiser arrived 15 min before his tee time, paid the green fees and promptly went back home to get his forgotten items i.e battery, phone and water. He got his battery and water but forgot his phone, LOL ! Another person with memory problems is Roger T who forgot his battery and Garmin watch, but he lived too far away to nip home to get them.
Despite the tight nature of the course some good scores were recorded. There were plenty of balls hitting trees in our 4 ball of new boy Richard Fisher, JP and Roger T. In fact we left JP behind most of the time looking for his ball and he had to play catch up. For example, on the 2nd hole, JP drove into the woods, played a provisional and could not find either. The rest of us played our approach shots and moved towards the green. JP eventually finds his provisional and prodded it forward. The rest of us putted out whilst JP was still looking for his ball again. Suddenly JP said 'I found it' and played a 60 yard chip straight into the hole. 5 for 3 thank you very much he says. This was the theme all the way round.
Despite JP not being able to find his ball most of the time he won with 41 pts beating Winsey on a better b9. 3rd was Dennis with 40 pts.
Dennis was nearest to pin for the 3rd time running. I am going to have to change the prize from a bottle of wine to a sleeve of balls just for him.
Another good awayday, I think.
