Seniors Fantasy Golf 2023 : Rules
What can I win?
The prize pot will be 50% of the money collected with the balance going to the senior captain’s charity (Dementia UK). There will be 3 end of season prizes and 4 interim prizes at various points of the season.
What it can cost you
Entry fee is £5 per team (max 2 teams each). Please contact Steve Bell to enter (stevebellybell@icloud.com)
Who can I pick?
Entrants should pick 3 senior golfers as their team. If you have 2 teams you must always have 6 different players so no double ups.
Please get teams in as early as you can, unlimited free changes up until date of first competition.
The ego rule
Entrants cannot select themselves
You cannot just select low handicappers
The 3 golfers selected must have a total handicap index of 54 or more.
Handicaps are complicated how do I know players handicaps?
All players handicaps are as shown in the Fantasy Golf handicap list. A list of regular senior players with current handicap indexes is provided but an entrant can select any club senior player they wish. Players not on the handicap list go in at their current handicap (check you still meet the 54-point total rule at that point).
You cannot pick elite players only
Any team can only include 1 of the following ELITE players namely: Sandford, Skinner, Burnham, Allen. You do not have to pick any of them if you don’t want to. If any of these elite players leaves to take up a place on the LIV tour they will no longer be eligible for Fantasy Golf points.
The Simon rule for very very high handicappers
For the purposes of picking teams ONLY any player over 28 handicap Index will be deemed to be 28 handicap index.
Feel like a banker and grab a bonus
Each team will receive a bonus at the end of April equal to the sum of the team handicaps minus 54 so if you pick a team of higher handicap players you will get a bigger bonus. If you make transfers before April 30th the total must be as least as high as your original team or the bonus is lost (I.e. bonus 0).
Feel like a banker and grab an extra bonus
If you pick a player nobody else picks and keep them until April 30th you will get an extra 10-point bonus
Transfer gossip
Each entrant can change players up to 5 times per team at a cost of £1 per player. (check you still meet the 54-point total rule and other selection rules at that point)

Dates and competitions that count
The Competition runs from February 27th 2023 (Texas Scramble) to November 27th 2023 (Turkey Trot). Any competition not played by then will be excluded. The league includes all seniors’ competitions EXCEPT the Captain’s Drive In, the Yellow Peril, the Alf Haines Chapman, the Senior Captain’s Putter pairs matchplay, Guest Day, Ladies and Seniors days, and the Scratch senior championship result. (The summer knockout competitions are included with scores calculated from fantasy teams listed just before the draw).
The Bell Ego Rule
Fantasy administrator decisions (including any mistakes made) are final. Fantasy Administrator does not enter a team so there is no conflict of interest.
If I disagree with the Fantasy Administrators decision do I have a right of appeal?
