Seniors 3 Ball Texas Scramble
26th February 2024
27 signed up, but we lost 6 on the journey to the first tee. Careful pre-planning of the initial team compositions by Ray and some quick late adjustments left most teams of 3 unaffected. So well done to him.
The problems presented by the expected wet conditions were greatly compounded by the rather cold, very windy conditions. A salute for those players who would normally only trolley round, but gave all they had and coped with those conditions to get to the finish line.
If you think the conditions yesterday were the worst of golf, you need to read this man's view!!

Some coped better than others of course and we certainly had quite a wide range of scores for this format. Previous years results had seen some ups and downs ( 2023-60.7 / 22-54.5 / 20-56.8 / 19-59.8).
Two of our reluctant 'carriers' - Winesy and Sharpie, certainly got it right with Dave Handley as they slid past the winning line with a round of 72, which after taking off their HC of 12.2 gave them a net score of 59.8.
That just edged out the 2nd place team of Belly, Bandit Fisher and Iron man Ivan, who also had a 72, but a HC of 0.2 less, so a net of 60.
Both excellent scores given the conditions, and well clear of the also rans. Very well done guys.
