Seniors Fantasy Golf News 2023 : No 5
More results from Belly who has now returned from various Test Matches where he was in a hospitality box presumably working in his non-Executive job.
Its all change in the interim results to July 17th with Dennis taking the money from Chris V and Tony D. Challenges await the leaders though as Allen is in most leading teams and he needs to be cold shouldered for a while so transfers are in order. Mind you he did put his enforced absence from Monday’s medal to good use when he spent the morning hacking into Golf England to ensure General Paton got cut even though he finished 26th.
Looking on WhatsApp most people signal their name, but not our local royalty King Henry V. He’s HFCV007 – obviously trying to rebrand himself as a special agent. It won’t work Your Majesty or should I say Henry Frederick Charles - don’t worry as the committee will approve your plaque for the 10th ditch shortly.
Then there’s the learning process that we pick someone fairly new and make them vice-captain hoping they will learn the job before they have to do it the following year. I thought Mike Trigonometry was doing OK and then he raised the question of scoring an eagle in Dennis’s earshot. Things still to learn Mike.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks to all those who give me a lift home after golf. I am happy to return the compliment as I have now licensed my buggy as a taxi and will give people a ride back to hit another ball after the first is lost. I’m doing good business. (Note to self – take hay fever tablet if drawn with ‘Don’t tell ‘im’ Pike again).
Rumour has it Flash strained his arm writing emails and WhatsApps. This has only happened once before when Roger T had to have a new shoulder and missed six months. Yours cannot be as bad as that Gordon.
Our recent winners are Ivan the Terrible, Chris White Van Man, aforementioned Barbie’s boyfriend, and, most recently, Ash Tray. Well done to them and, as ever, the vice-captain won the captains putter match. I hope the trophy looks nice on the mantelpiece Mike.
Well done to all of them and particularly Ivan who seems to be having a good season for a 70-year-old.
REMINDER:
PS2. Gordon scolded Frenchie for not booking the tees for the Top Meadow match. Bill reminded him it’s an away match.
