In attendance
Steve Abbott , Mike Trett, Ash Patel , Geoff Jackson , Colin Brown , Chris Vander, Gordon Allen
Mike advised the committee that we still don’t have access to the computer so we are unable to arrange handicap qualifying competitions. It is anticipated that this may not happen until September. Mike has proposed a number of competitions for the rest of 2020. This proposal was agreed by the committee. It was further agreed that for this year there will be no trophies, no honours board and no golfer of the year competition . For the rest of this year the following prizes will be given
Singles comp winner £20
Singles comp r/u £10
Pairs winners £15 each
Team comps £10 each
Until we are able to process results through the computer (when handicaps will automatically be adjusted both up and down ) the following cuts will apply to all competitions run from 30/06/2020
Singles winner 2 shots
Singles r/u 1 shot
No shots back will be given until we are able to use the computer. Once the computer is accessible all handicaps will revert to those prior to course closure.
Entry fees will be charged at £3 each competition . Ash will collate the amount owed by each entrant and will ask for a one off payment when the period of running competitions outside of the computer ends
Friendly matches with other clubs were discussed . Geoff advised that he has not been able to reach an agreement with Luke regarding guest green fees . Steve agreed to peruse this matter with get golfing . Now that he clubhouse is about to reopened Geoff will contact Mandy at the club with a view to agreeing prices for lunches.
It was recognised by the committee that the cost of matches will be considerably higher than in previous years accordingly it was decided to look at scaling our matches back from 20 to 16 .
Steve raised the issue of appointing a chairman to represent the seniors on other club committees . It was agreed to revisit this issue when arrangements with the new proprietors settle down
Mike advised there will be an option to use the club terminal for competition entry or to collect monies ourselves. It was agreed we use the terminal
The question of seniors captain was discussed and it was unanimously agreed that Steve would be invited to remain as captain for 2021 in light of the disruption to this year . Steve agreed to let us know if he wishes to accept.
