'Golfer of the Year' 2024
The Seniors' 'Golfer of the Year' is determined by the player who gains the most points from the 10 Golfer of the Year competitions held each year. 10 points are allocated to the winner of each of the 10 competitions, with 2nd place getting 9 points etc down to 1 point for 10th place.
GOY Scores after 2 Competitions
The 2nd golfer of the year (medal) gave us a different winner, although 3 steady scorers occupy the top 3 places so far.
A special well done to Rex on his win in the Old Codgers and very apt it was. A lovely chap well into his 80s he was very close to scoring his age again! And a net 71 was well clear of the nearest player in 2nd place, which was GOY specialist Greg, with 2 quite recent GOY titles in the bag already, on a net 74.
As usual with a Medal Comp there were a few tales of 'the hole that killed my round' floating around afterwards, but unusually I won't sound the bell and share! Dennis still has the record though.
The 3rd GOY is not until Friday 17th May so plenty of time to get in the lessons and practise!
