(Former) Captain Dave's Away Trip to East Sussex (Part 2)
19th April 2023
The rescheduled 2nd day of golf at East Sussex saw 20 of us making the longish journey for the day. The original 2nd day's game had to be held over due to flooding in the tunnel (not the Dartford one- the one leading to the main part of the 2nd course) and not a small amount of rain.
2022's Capt Dave had arranged the teams for the day.
Conditions were not great with strong winds at times and a course quite wet underfoot, with most fairways uncut. (That's the excuse for one team anyway).
Dave nearly got it right, but his No1 team was pipped for 1st place by Team 4.
Individual honours for the day went to Richard Fisher (who was brave enough to elect to do a handicap counting card at a completely unknown course) with a winning score of 34 points and Ash Patel with 33.
Dave Handley surprised us (!) by taking the nearest the pin prize.
But the belated 2022 Captains trip Champion was Bill French with the highest individual score over the two days of play.
Well done to all the winners.
No one took any photos!
