Welcome to the Seniors' Section at Warley Park Golf Club.
I am honoured and thrilled to have been invited to be Captain of Warley Park Seniors for 2019. I look forward to my term in the hot seat with the hope that the Section can achieve the same levels of success as we experienced in 2018, especially in the Inter Club matches. I thank my predecessor Graham Robson, the Committee and past Seniors’ Captains for their words of wisdom during my time as Vice-Captain. I will certainly continue to seek their advices as I go through my year.
I am inheriting a Seniors’ Section that is one to be proud of, one built on the dedication and hard work over many years by a special blend of characters, namely the Seniors’ Captains and Committee Members, both past and present. My main aim for 2019 is thus to uphold the tradition of providing fun social golf with a healthy element of competition thrown in and, as we continue to grow, to ensure that all new members are afforded an open and warm welcome.
The Seniors’ Section is also most proud of this Website. On it you will have seen the comprehensive Fixture List for the coming year. In addition, Winter and Summer Singles and Doubles competitions, 4 Autumn / Winter Away Days, monthly ‘Network’ Days and regular swindles on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are all on offer. If this is of interest, you are over 55 years old and want to play golf within a vibrant atmosphere then please contact either myself, or Richard Stephenson, Seniors’ Secretary, at the addresses listed on the Welcome Page.
My chosen charity is The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance. This most valuable, life-saving charity continues to rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and continue to provide urgent care for those in need. I invite all Seniors to support this cause in whatever way they can throughout the year.
To close, along with my Vice-Captain, Steve Abbott, I wish you all a fabulous 2019 filled with golf of extraordinary quality and good fun.
