Wednesday
1st November 2022
On a damp day Captain Kev and the intrepid band of Past Seniors Captains battled over 9 holes as to who would win the much coveted shield. Due to emergency work being carried out on course 2, this year the competition was played on course 1.
Captain Kev led the field. Battle commenced with 12 Seniors playing. It was great to see 2 past Seniors Captains - George Fox and Allan Appleby (now at Top Meadow with Gunger. George will be rejoining on a points basis.
After a fierce battle with plenty of nip and tuck, below is the final result.
________________________________________________
Winner - Lord Skinner - 22 points ( best back 6)
Runner Up - Captain Kev - 22 points
Kim Hansen - 19 points
Ash Patel - 18 points
Dave Watt 17 points
Allan Appleby - 16 points
George Fox - 14 points
Les Polden 12 points
Peter Wines - 12 points
Roger Tallentire - 12 points
Steve Abbott - 8 points
Chris Vander - 6 points

Mike Trett and Colin Anthony joined the Past Captains for lunch; after a few drinks everybody adjourned to the Library for lunch - Ham Egg and Chips, which was very acceptable.
After the usual lunch banter, Captain Kev presented the Shield to Dave Skinner, made a short speech and told a joke. Dave Skinner replied and promised to keep the shield clean and polished for next year!
A great day was had by all.
