Ash's Days Out
Away day 2022 : Belhus Golf Course 2022
October's awayday at Belhus produced another good turnout as 19 Seniors patiently waited for the bacon rolls to be cooked. They were ordered for 8am but the cook turned up late. We did eventually get them with the 1st group out devouring them in record time so they could make the 8:40 tee time.
Heavy rain the previous day had moved away to give us a typical autumn day to play golf - windy, cloudy, some rain, some sunshine. The course was still relatively dry, but with so many trees around, the leaves on the ground was a big problem for many, particularly Kevin who lost 8 balls. This was reflected in his score of 17 and a record number of mr blobbies. The other problem was the slow greens , too much grass left on them. You had to learn very quickly to hit the putts firmly and straight at the hole.
The scores were quite good but not silly as 15 players scored 30 or more. Top of the pile was Mike with an excellent 38 whilst Kim beat Ash on countback for 2nd place.
The team game was quite close with Ash, Chris and JP scoring 82pts to take the wine home.
Sharpshooters of the day were Greg and Alan
So a cheap and cheerful day out with nice staff, good food and some good golf. I think most people enjoyed it (except Kev)
