Ash's Days Out
Away day 2022 : Hainault Golf Course 2022
The day started promisingly, no rain in sight. But roadworks near Hainault golf course and faulty traffic lights caused a big hold up and most seniors were late for the 8am meet. Not to worry as all tee times were put back by 30 minutes and everybody was able to have their coffee and bacon rolls in the greasy 'Tad in the Hole' cafe
116 slope rating for the 'Old course' indicated that the course would be easy, but the scores did not reflect this, probably due to lost balls in the leaves. It was an easy course with very few hazards, but there were some long par 4's which curtailed the scoring somewhat. The par 3's were quite short so that should have boosted the scores but some found those difficult too. In fact the team that won the team prize scored 'Nil Pwa' on NP hole 15. Overall it was a decent course, dry in most places but slow greens. Worth the visit.
Winners are shown below, well done to all of them.
Next awayday at Abridge on 5th Dec is the start of the competition for the Awayday Cup.
